This is the first knit stocking purse that I have attempted to make. I used silk buttonhole thread and size 0000 steel knitting needles to achieve the correct gauge. The lace pattern I used is inspired by designs I have seen in originals. However, while I have seen the diamond pattern in knit purses, the open weave of the lacework I did is more typical of netted or sprang purses, so I will have to pursue those techniques further down the line.
